The Willow Park Resource Centre is a learning and leisure environment for people with Learning Difficulties, Physical Disability and Sensory Impairment.
We aim to offer engagement through a wide choice of enjoyable activities. These are available at different times of the day to meet your requirements and you will be able to create your own individual ‘learning through leisure’ plan.
Our trained Resource Assistants will enable you to explore different methods of communication (with advice and guidance from Speech and Language therapists), practice current skills and explore new and emerging skills within the workshops.
Time to relax and chat with friends is part of the structured day as we feel social contact is very important for forming and maintaining relationships with friends and colleagues. The Resource assistants are trained to cater for all your personal needs and the centre has fully equipped changing rooms at your disposal.
We are dedicated to providing you with the best quality of care whilst maintaining the focus on supporting you to achieve your personal development goals.
All staff are CRB checked and trained in:
• Developing learning
• Inclusive Communication in Essex
• Health and Safety
• First Aid
• Manual Handling
• POVA (Protection of Vulnerable Adults)
• POCA (Prevention of Child Abuse)
• Epilepsy
All have attained or are working towards NVQ level 2 in Health and Social Care or higher.
The programme of staff training is on-going and will include dysphagia, interactive approaches and training specific to the activity being delivered.
